After much was made of the Chicago Cubs attempt to end their 100-year title drought, the White Sox are the city's lone remaining team in the MLB playoffs. But don't expect White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen to shed a tear for the Cubs, who were swept by the Los Angeles Dodgers in the National League Division Series."Oh, (bleep) the Cubs," Guillen told a White Sox employee after his post-game news conference, the New York Post reported.
According to the newspaper, Guillen made the comment as he was leaving the interview room after answering a question about being Chicago's lone team left in the playoffs. In his response to the question, Guillen did show some sympathy for some of the individuals on the Cubs roster."I know the situation they're in, it's not easy walking in Chicago," said Guillen, according to the New York Post. "I sent a message to (Carlos) Zambrano last night. I said, 'Keep your head up. … You did what you're supposed to do, you guys just came up short.' Lou Piniella is one of my heroes. I have a lot of respect for him."The White Sox stayed alive in the postseason by defeating Tampa Bay 5-3 in Game 3 of the American League Division Series. They will face the Rays in Game 4 on Monday night.
