Bruins, Flyers Complete Trade

POSTED: 1:44 pm EDT October 13, 2008

(Sports Network) - The Boston Bruins dealt 27-year-old defenseman Andrew Alberts on Monday to the Philadelphia Flyers for forward Ned Lukacevic and a fourth round pick in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.

The 2009 fourth-round pick will turn into a 2009 third-round selection if Philadelphia re-signs Alberts at the end of his contract. The defenseman's deal expires on June 30, 2009.

Alberts, 27, was scratched for Boston's first two games this season. The 6- foot-5 Alberts registered two assists in 35 games for the Bruins during the 2007-08 campaign. He also appeared in two playoff contests.

Lukacevic collected 17 goals and 19 assists in 61 contests last year for Reading of the East Coast Hockey League. He was originally drafted in the fourth round (110th overall) in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft by the Los Angeles Kings and was traded to Philadelphia in June 2008.
