UPDATED: 3:44 pm EST January 12, 2006

Sally Kidd came to the Washington news bureau in September 2004 from Orlando, Fla., where she worked as a reporter for our sister station, WESH-TV for 7 years.

She spent much of her career working at TV stations in the Sunshine State, including reporting and anchoring jobs in Fort Myers, Pensacola, Gainesville and Panama City.

But her roots are in Cajun country. Sally received her degree in broadcast journalism from Louisiana State University. She landed her first job in radio, broadcasting traffic reports from an airplane in the skies above Baton Rouge.

Sally lives in Washington with her pet beagle, Boudreaux.
