Detectives arrested 44-year-old Anthony Anderson over the weekend.

"I'm pretty shocked," said neighbor Chris Whitcomb. "It's one of those things you don't expect to happen in your own back yard."

Police said three months ago, Anderson began chatting on yahoo.com with who he thought was a 14-year-old girl.

"He repeatedly sent photos of genitalia, his face," said Detective Phil Russell of Metro Police. "He also broadcast himself on a web cam."

Detectives said this weekend, Anderson arranged for a cab to pick up the teen and take her to his apartment for sex and to pose nude on a web cam.

Instead, police showed up at his door.

Throughout the chatting process, detectives said Anderson asked a lot of questions, trying to make sure he wasn't talking to police -- no doubt aware of prior, highly publicized sex stings.

"And, unfortunately these predators are getting better at covering their tracks. But also, fortunately, our investigators are able to, in many ways, stay one step ahead of them," Russell said.

Police said parents need to be a step ahead of their kids by checking Internet histories, getting chat room passwords and talking to them about the dangers online, something Rosalie Schaefer never considered when her kids were this age.

"When my children were growing up, I could let them run, let them go through the neighborhood and I didn't have to worry about them," she said. "I think this is getting to be a very sick world."
