IRS Declares National Economic Stimulus Day

LOUISVILLE, Ky. -- The IRS has declared Monday "National Economic Stimulus Day" in Louisville.The IRS said nearly 11,000 people in Louisville and more than 67,000 in the state of Kentucky could miss out on their economic stimulus payment.The IRS said thousands are qualified to receive the money, but must file a 2007 income tax return by next Wednesday in order to get it.
IRS agents and volunteers will be helping retirees, seniors and veterans get their returns ready at the Metro United Way from 1:30 until 4:30 p.m. Monday.They'll be at the Portland Promise Center Tuesday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
