Child Battling Deadly Disease Gets First Treatment In China
A Shepherdsville girl afflicted with a rare and deadly nervous disorder has received her first potentially life-saving treatment in China.Hailey Goranflo suffers from Batten Disease, a rare and fatal inherited neurological disease.Two weeks ago, she was prevented from flying to China due to health concerns.
Her father said that she received her first treatment Tuesday in China.He said that she seems to be reacting well to the treatment.Hailey started her physical therapy as well and her breathing is better than it was when she was at home, her family said.As of this report, there is no information on when her next stem cell injection will be.
