Abbey Road Returning to River

POSTED: 5:16 pm EDT May 24, 2007

Beatles fans from all over the planet are taking over the Belvedere for what’s billed as “the world’s largest Fab Four festival.”

Abbey Road on the River is making its third straight appearance in as many years in Louisville and will draw more than 20,000 Beatles fans in its five-day run.

The weekend will include a Beatles film festival, lectures on the rock group, mountains of memorabilia and multiple bands playing Beatle tributes on nine separate stages.

“It is definitely the hub of all the Beatle festivals in North America,” festival spokesman Hal Bruce said.

Abbey Road on the River runs through Memorial Day. Tickets cost $20 for general admission and are available at the main entrance.
