Hearst-Argyle's WLKY-TV has been honored with prestigious Edward R. Murrow Awards for news overall excellence and best newscast.
The Radio-Television News Directors Foundation and Association has honored outstanding achievements in electronic journalism with the Edward R. Murrow awards since 1971.
Recipients of regional Murrow Awards are automatically nominees for national awards, which are announced in October 2007 at a dinner in New York.
WLKY-TV previously won Murrow Awards in 2002 for Investigative Reporting and in 2005 for Spot News Coverage, Investigative Reporting and Best Website.
WLKY-TV competes in Region 8, competing against television stations from Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennesse.
